the process

Investment casting products break down the limits of traditional production processes, maintaining at the same time excellent mechanical and structural properties.
The investment casting process is one of the oldest metal forming techniques. Its main steps are:
  • mold creation for wax pattern production.
  • Wax patterns are merged to the main sprue to build a tree.
  • The trees are soaked into baths of ceramic powder gradually coarser, till the desired thickness is reached.
  • The molten metal is casted into the shell.
  • The shells are broken and the casted parts are separated by the main sprue.

why choosing the investment casting

Investment casting allows designers to focus on product functionality and shape: cavities, radii and undercuts no longer represents an obstacle as in machining processes.
By choosing investment casting it is possible to optimize both the product and the production process. Assembled or welded parts can be casted in a single piece.
Due to the narrow tolerances casted parts need minimal reworking reducing machining costs.
Mold and equipment costs are low compared to other processes and it is possible to cast different metal alloys using the same mold to make the starting wax shapes.
For these reasons, investment casting can be applied to products belonging to any industrial sector.
  • FOOD MACHINES
  • PUMPS
  • FURNISHING
  • AUTOMOTIVE
  • AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY
  • TEXTILE MACHINE
  • NAUTICAL AND NAVAL INDUSTRY
